@00:53nice sweet simple and pretty well done some of it im not sure i like but its cool. just seems the boy slooks very toon shaded kinda thing and everything else not so much so looks a bit strange at time but awesome stuff i like it!

secondly, i loved your animation, as well as others said it was short, but hey! it was really well put and it didnt seem rushed (:

it reminded me of toystory in the beginning 8D which for me meant it was really good! keep it up! 8D

Hi, thanks for commenting. Everything is surfaced using the same shader, though since the bg is so visually complex it may appear dissimilar.

It was all done in Maya and RenderMan then composited in After Effects.

I was more influenced by Hogarth in his bedroom in "The Iron Giant". That is one of my favourite films.

Thanks. Yup, had to try and keep things simple in order to keep the quality up. Took 6 months to design, model, rig and light, leaving only 3 weeks to animate. Blargh!
